Rochdale driver Steve Brown enjoyed a successful return to the Epynt Military Ranges in Wales, by taking a class win at the recent Tour of Epynt [30 July].

Brown and regular co-driver Paul Stringer overcame an opening stage technical drama with their Nissan Micra Kit Car, to fight back throughout the seven, rain-soaked stages and secure the category victory.

Brown has not been behind the wheel competitively at all since May and had elected to head to Wales for the one-day blast across the infamous and super-fast moorland roads in the heart of Wales. Rochdale based rally driver Steve Brown made his first trip to the Isle of Man’s Manx National Rally [12-13 May] in almost seven years last weekend, but endured a troublesome return during the tough two-day event.

Brown and co-driver Arwel Jenkins would lie just six seconds away from a category podium during the opening stages of the event in their Nissan Micra Kit Car, before a series of misfortune sent them tumbling down the leaderboard. Steve Brown’s final event of the 2022 season was not the success he hoped for, retiring from the Mallorca-based Rally Dijous Bo with engine issues in his Nissan Micra Kit Car last weekend [11-12 November].

The Rochdale driver had headed to the popular Balearic Island in a bid to round out his season on a high, after a quieter spell behind the wheel. Rochdale driver Steve Brown made a return to the stages on Sunday [20 February], tackling the Questmead Stages at Three Sisters near Wigan, but endured a weekend of mixed fortunes as he tackled his first competitive event of 2022.

Guiding his popular Nissan Micra Kit Car through treacherous conditions as the UK was battered by Storm Franklin, Brown and co-driver Andy Rose had built an impressive one minute and thirty second class lead, before aquaplaning on a tricky part of the circuit, sending the car into the barriers and instant retirement. Rochdale racer Steve Brown has been named as the 2021 Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy BMW MINI champion after the latest round [6-7 November] at Lydden Hill Race Circuit in Kent.

Brown grabbed hold of the lead of the championship earlier this year at Pembrey in Wales and after a solid performance throughout the latter half of the season, was able to hold onto the top spot as the championship headed to the penultimate round in the South East. Read More »

Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy contender Steve Brown endured a tough weekend in Scotland, managing only one podium spot in the BMW MINI double header at Knockhill Race Circuit [24-25 September].

Brown was fresh from a scintillating performance at Pembrey last month when he took his maiden British Rallycross Championship wins on both rounds of the weekend, which subsequently vaulted him to the top of the championship standings.
