13 J1000 crews lined up to take the start of the Memorial Garden Stages Junior Rally, round 6 of the 2022 season, based on the mixture of sealed and loose surfaces of RM Condor in Arbroath
6 stages would make up the day, the weather dry and sunny but a little on the chilly side.

Taking his 5th win of the season, this round was the most challenging so far for Sam Pattison & co-driver Paul Whittaker. The red Citigo suffering for most of the day with a gearbox that wasn’t overly happy going into 3rd gear. Sam, following some advice from his Dad, was trying to slot into 3rd as gently as he could on the stages. They managed to nurse the issue and drive at a good pace all the way to the finish, taking the win by just 10 seconds. Read More »

Cumbrian racing driver Frank Bird was back in action for round six of the ADAC GT Masters Series which was held at Sachsenring this weekend where he just missed out on a podium finish.

As usual, driving for MANN-FILTER Team LANDGRAF, Penrith-born Frank was hoping for another good showing as he once again teamed up with teenage Finnish driver Elias Seppanen for the two races in the Frank Bird Poultry Ltd-backed Mercedes AMG-GT3. Read More »

Duns rally driver Garry Pearson continued to build valuable experience in the top-flight Motorsport UK British Rally Championship, taking fifth place at a difficult Trackrod Rally Yorkshire [23-24 September].

After six brutal stages in the world-class Dalby, Cropton and Langdale Forests, Pearson and co-driver Dale Furniss returned a solid performance across the slippery and treacherous gravel tests, to head into the final round in October with a chance at finishing in the top three of Britain’s premier rally championship. Three-time British Rally champion Matt Edwards was unbeatable in Yorkshire last weekend, storming to a dominant victory in the Fuchs Lubricants British Historic Rally Championship at the Trackrod Historic Cup [23-24 September].

Edwards and co-driver Hamish Campbell set the fastest stage time on each of the event’s six stages in their FIAT 131 Abarth to take their third win of the 2022 season. The pairing finished an impressive one minute and twenty-seven seconds up the road from second-placed Simon Webster, with Ben Friend rounding out the podium in third. Read More »

The North York Moors proved a happy hunting ground for Welsh star Osian Pryce as he clinched the Motorsport UK British Championship with victory on the Trackrod Rally Yorkshire.

The 29-year old from Machynlleth piloted his Volkswagon Polo GTR5 to fastest stage times on the opening four of six timed forest stages to emerge over 20 seconds clear of his main championship rival Keith Cronin, from Bantry in Ireland. Read More »

Osian Pryce & Noel O’Sullivan (Polo R5) added their names to the roll of honour of British Rally Champions, with victory on the Trackrod Rally. Theye were fastest on the opening 4 stages and despite a charge back from Keith Cronin & Mikie Galvin (Polo R5) they had enough of an advantage to secure the victory they needed. Cronin had to fight his way back up the order and ended up just 6.2s ahead of Ruairi Bell & Max Freeman (Fabia R5). In the 2WD class Eamonn Kelly & Conor Mohan (Fiesta Rally4) took the top honours in 6th overall. Read More »

Motorsport UK British Championship leader Osian Pryce made the perfect start in his quest to win a maiden title by taking an early lead over main rival Keith Cronin in the Trackrod Rally Yorkshire.

Welshman Pryce, driving a Volkswagon Polo GTR5, finished the opening night stage of round six on the North York Moors 5.2 seconds ahead of four times previous champion Keith Cronin, from Ireland in a similar vehicle. Read More »

Steve Wood, John Stone and Mark Kelly will head to the final round of the Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship, the Chris Kelly Memorial Manx Stages (30 September/1 October), aiming to become the overall 2022 driver’s champion – and clinch the Protyre Trophy and prestigious BTRDA Gold Star award.
