Clee Hills Trial

Following the cancellation due to bad weather in 2013, the Clee Hills Trial was back in 2014 with glorious sunshine. However this followed the downpour of the day before and the tracks were treacherous, making many of the sections even more testing than usual. We concentrated on Priors Holt this year and watched at 2 new sections, with Priors Holt 4 proving to be the stern test. It was great to see this event again and the true spirit of motorsport, where it is man and machine against the conditions.

Brands Hatch Stages

It proved to be back to back wins on the event for the Davrian Dav-Tec of Dean Thomas & Mark Burt but that was not the whole story. Johnnie Ellis & Dave Green (Impreza) has set the pace setting fastest times on all 4 of the morning stages. Their lead was being cut in to through stages 5 & 6 but they looked to have the gap in hand but disaster struck on stage 7 as they punctured coming out of Druids and the resultant time loss saw them drop off the leader board. The fastest crew through the afternoon were Royston & Bridge Carey (Clio 172) but they had lost too much time early on and ended up 12 seconds behind Thomas. Pete Rayner & Stanley Graham (Escort MkII) completed the podium a further 28 seconds back.
