Round two of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup took place this weekend at a sweltering Misano track in Italy and saw Cumbrian racing driver Frank Bird emerge Frank Birdwith a victory.

Driving for the German-based Haupt Racing Team in the PBM and Hager-backed Mercedes-AMG GT3, Penrith-born Frank was again teamed up with Australian Jordan Love in the Silver Cup class whereby the duo were hoping to continue their good form from the opening round at Brands Hatch where they scored a double podium. Cumbrian racing driver Frank Bird made the most of home advantage when he came away Frank Birdfrom Brands Hatch with a double podium in the opening round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup.

Driving for the German-based Haupt Racing Team in the PBM-backed Mercedes-AMG GT3, Frank was racing at the Kent track where father Paul’s Superbike team has enjoyed so much success over the years, and was contesting the Silver Cup class with Australian teammate Jordan Love. Read More »

Following a successful season in 2021, Cumbrian racing driver Frank Bird will once again contest the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup in 2022 after signing for German team Leipert Motorsport.

The Penrith-born star will drive a Lamborghini Hurácan GT3 along with teammates Brendon Leitch from New Zealand and German driver Dennis Fetzer in the Silver Cup class whilst Dutchman Max Weering will join the trio at the 24 Hours of Spa. Read More »
