Penrith rally driver Paul Bird’s hopes of adding to his two Grizedale Stages victories ended in Paul Birdretirement on the third stage today after a promising start in his native Lake District.

Cumbrian rally driver Paul Bird endured mixed fortunes on his visit to the Caribbean for the Paul Bird Barbados Winter Rally Festival this week where he combined a victory with a retirement on the two events.

Cumbrian rally driver Paul Bird’s much anticipated return to the super-fast asphalt surfaces of the Paul BirdIsle of Man was short lived when a technical problem forced him out of the PokerStars Rally in the early stages last night.

Double Sol Rally Barbados winner Paul Bird will compete in the final round of the Barbados Rally Paul Bird Club’s (BRC) Winter Rally at the end of this month.

Fresh from his podium success in Scotland last month following two years away from the sport, Paul Bird Cumbrian rally driver Paul Bird got back to winning ways when he took a convincing victory on today’s Eventsigns Woodpecker Stages Rally based in Shropshire.

Bird, from Langwathby near Penrith in Cumbria, along with Welsh co-driver Jamie Edwards from Wrexham were contesting the penultimate round of the Ravenol BTRDA Rally Series which comprised the majority of stages in and around the Radnor forest complex in mid-Wales and saw a strong field assembled for the event.
